Maestro elementare dal 1975, Marco Rossi-Doria ha insegnato in quartieri difficili di Roma e Napoli, ma anche all’estero e in particolare negli Stati Uniti, Kenya e Francia. Primo maestro di strada, ha fondato il progetto Chance – scuola pubblica di seconda occasione. Esperto dei processi di apprendimento e delle politiche di inclusione è stato Sottosegretario di Stato all’Istruzione dal 2011 al 2014. Ha ricevuto dal Presidente della Repubblica la Medaglia d’oro per la cultura, l’educazione e la scuola nel 2001. Ha fondato l’Associazione IF, Imparare a fare. Dal 2021 è presidente dell’impresa sociale Con i Bambini.
Elementary teacher since 1975, Marco Rossi-Doria has taught in difficult neighbourhoods in Rome and Naples, and also in the US, Kenya and France. As Italy’s first “maestro di strada” (a special “street” teacher bringing drop-outs back to school), he co-founded the Chance project in Naples – a “second chance” public school. Expert of learning processes and educational inclusion policies, he has been Undersecretary of State to Education (2011-2014). In 2001 he received the Gold Medal for Culture, Education and School from the President of the Republic. He founded the Association IF – Imparare Fare. In 2021 he was appointed President of the social enterprise Con i Bambini.
